ピンクタワーは、立方体の大きさの違いを通して「大きい・小さい」という感覚を育てる、モンテッソーリの代表的な感覚教具です。

一方、茶色の階段は、長さは同じでも太さが少しずつ違う直方体を使い、「太い・細い」という量の違いに気づくための教具です。どちらも、目で見て、手で触れて、比べることで、感覚を通して理解を深めていきます。

The Pink Tower is a classic Montessori sensorial material that helps children notice differences in size through a series of cubes that gradually change from large to small.

The Brown Stair, on the other hand, focuses on differences in thickness. All prisms are the same length, but their thickness gradually increases, allowing children to refine their visual and tactile discrimination of dimension.

Both materials are traditionally introduced around the age of two and a half and are considered foundational sensorial materials for young children. Their simple, clear structure allows even very young children to work independently, building concentration and confidence through hands-on exploration.

At the same time, the Pink Tower and Brown Stair are materials that continue to grow with the child. By using these pattern cards, children are invited to explore new ways of arranging, combining, and constructing shapes. Variations such as working from pattern cards or using blindfolded activities allow older children to deepen and refine their sensorial experiences, making these materials engaging well into the kindergarten years.

This all-in-one set includes 24 Pink Tower pattern cards, 16 Brown Stair pattern cards, and 20 combination cards that use both materials together. The cards can be used individually or combined, offering a wide range of activity possibilities within one complete set.

Some of the cards challenge children to translate a flat, two-dimensional image into a three-dimensional vertical construction using the actual materials. Converting a flat image into a spatial structure requires advanced spatial awareness and can be quite challenging for children. For these activities, adult support is recommended. Younger children, in particular, benefit from working together with an adult, receiving gentle guidance and encouragement as they explore more complex constructions.
